COME FOR THE TUNES,
STAY FOR THE
COMMUNITY!

The Fall Series is now over.
See you next spring,
starting in April!
"Thank you again for doing these amazing sessions. I always look forward to learning the tunes that you both have chosen. I really enjoy reading and hearing about the tunes with all of their twists and history. The tunes really come alive when I go through the on-line sessions with your description of the tunes (and the you tube choices) and how they can be played with the different variations.
Many thanks yet again for your outstanding work and dedication."

"The tunes and knowledge you impart have enriched my life in many ways.."

"I enjoy learning about particular tune writers because so often we are playing tunes but we don’t have any idea who wrote them. Your supplementary materials are things I refer to year after year, so thank you so much for putting this together.

About Benedict and Hilari
We were fortunate to have been taught by players who grew up in Ireland in the 1930’s, 40’s and 50’s, as well as by musicians from the vibrant New York Irish music community which flourished from the 1950’s to the present day. Some of the people who guided us in music include Billy McComiskey, Eamon Flynn, Mike McHale, Mike Rafferty, Joe Madden, Jack Coen, Msgr. Charlie Coen, the McNamara family of County Leitrim, Mick O’Brien, and Frank Harte. The generous spirit of these mentors and their love for this music is what we try to pass on to players in Vermont.
We have played and taught widely at Irish festivals and events such as the Catskills Irish Arts Week, the Chris Langan Weekend in Toronto, the St. Louis Tionol, the Northeast Tionol, the Piper's Gathering, and the Champlain Valley Folk Festival. But we most enjoy the growing Vermont Irish music scene and the wonderful people who play this music with us.
